GURU DAKSHINA

When Eklavya passed his thumb to Drona
On a betal leaf (A pact o obedience between the 'teacher' and student)
As he was asked to,
He added:
Do not do harm (Droh Na!)
You know that I owe nothing to you
But that you did this because
In you nothing is fair except your skin pallour
And that comes from your shady existence in the North
Before you came here
And the way in which you were destroying things around you
Neither were you  fine or just
And you do this because you thrive by extortion, a bandit, a thug
And then try to call other people by that name
You want entire people to cower to foolish kings
While God himself
Have to wait in the nether world
And wait for his time to come.

You think that we know nothing
But we know that
Your deceptions are over
And gods kingdom is to come
Where a person is not derided for her status
Or job
And is respected as an equal
Whether she fits your
Plans or not.
Because since God is in everyone
He is also in that other person
The third one who is not you or she
And so she or he shall be treated with respect.

Ekalavya was not the one who stood for
The singular conjugal love
But one who had many affairs
But when  Krishna took his thumb
And killed him while at sex
A crow pheasant laughed and said
when you kill him there
You are also killing yourself
Because ultimately
You cannot kill love
Without destroying this world around you
And yourself
Because we all thrive on love.

And as for this mis -representation
We very well know
That you are not one from the southern parts(Dakshina)
Because we down there
Are dark
And gets our knowledge from the wind
Because we know every ledge for what it is
And know that we don't need much teaching
And know that with you
Everything is ultimately upside down
And so you need to teach and cofuse
Since you do not believe in the other person
Or in yourself
Or in the God
And need this trick
This betal-I (fatal eye)
To beat us
And to tell us not to fight this injustice
Which has today taken the shape of a teacher
Who asks for Guru Dakshina
Whereas we in the south do not
Make the distinction between what is guru (significant/ serious)
And what is Laghu (Of a light kind )
Or between a teacher and a student
And thus make light of what comes from God!
