WILL OMAN HAVE AN ONAM FOR A CHANGE?

As to me Id is important

I thought of an Onam

Of not just a day of return

But a flowering of the prophetic

And thought about the strange coincidence

In the spoonerism behind this countries name.

Will it not be feasible that

When a prophet who would even sacrifice all that he

And his country had

To keep his word to a cunning Vaman,

One who had held

All his countrymen as equals

In whose time

There was no

Violence or danger for anyone

 Falsity or cheating

Or lies-

And everything was measured truthfully.

When Mahabali, makes his return

Even deserts would flower

The plants and life flourish

And camels that had crossed deserts

With the moisture of their faith

Swim as if their lives were not spent

Among sand dunes

And dust storms.

Oh man! Woman or in-between

A prophet then would be welcome anywhere ,

Since Iblis no more held sway

And people took to equal rights

Prophecy and God

And life would become pleasurable and enduring

Without undue toil or exploitation.

Any land could then perhaps be called Oman

(Not a bad Omen)

If Oman could also join in.
