DRAGON FLY

Oh dear dragon fly
You scare me not
With the transparent silk apparels
And many beastly legs
With such huge eyes that
Take up most of your head
And lips protruding
That kisses the flowers
Turning their shivering stamens
In a day dream.

Why were you named a dragon,
Do you remember?
For I still can’t figure out
The logic of naming
Unless it was for them
To make you carry a stone
Many times your weight
As they sometimes do.

But dance on, you should
In the air
Drunk with nectar and carrying life’s pollen
Intoxicated with the sweet smells
Of flowers far and wide
I beg you
Come to my dream
Dancing in your dragon apparel
Scare me for once
As only you could do.
